It is a mother's pleasure to see her children happy. Samko is not handicapped at first sight. He is 4 years old. He has a neuro-developmental disorder that is still in the process of a long term diagnosis, some of which is not at all accessible through insurance companies and if some is, the wait is long or the intervals between therapies are too long than what the child needs for proper progress. As a mother, I find myself in a difficult situation. Either my child will not get his therapies as he needs, as they are very costly, or I will find you, the donors...
In 2023, we collected and received donations for Samko that covered a large portion of his therapies, for which we thank all known and unknown donors, friends and family. The therapies are clearly helping him and we have hope for continued improvement and progress....
His therapies continue, but the money is quickly running out...
Ongoing therapies remain physiotherapy, TSMT, speech therapy, orofacial stimulation, cranial osteopathy, ABA therapy, special education, neurofeedback, hippotherapy, and professional psychological guidance. We also need a considerable amount of money for nutritional supplements due to dietary issues and a gluten and dairy free diet for which he is not eligible for prescription (the irony of the system we live in....)
In short, Samko suffers from a general delayed of psychomotor development, he is hypotonic, i.e. he has weak muscles, poor coordination, impaired communication skills, drooling, a sleep disorder, a borderline diagnosis of PAS, and multiple lesions on the brain that interfere with the cooperation of the brain centers and affect his condition...
